Why WAR Zone Wrestling Competitions provide a better overall experience than traditional tournaments:
Events run much faster – The tournament director has the flexibility to determine how long people stay at the event. We suggest a 2 hour window, from arriving to leaving.
Kids wrestle in more matches – It is easy to get all wrestlers 4-6 quality matches, in less than 2 hours. We surveyed 174 wrestling parents, 94% would like to see their kids wrestle in at least 5 matches at a wrestling tournament!
Because WAR Zone is safe for beginners (and great for experts too), more kids consistently compete at events. WAR Zone opens up the beginner market: this is where all of the potential for growth lies.
Leaderboard scoring keeps teams and individuals wrestling more. It’s a race to win the most matches, and score the most points for your team.
Challenge Matches – The ability to challenge any wrestler is one of the most desirable features for wrestling parents. Many Dads/Moms want to control when their child gets the easier/tougher match. Challenge matches are put into the queue and dispatched in a timely fashion, without causing any extra work for the tournament director. [This functionality is not yet available, but will be released in early 2019 {there is no cost for accepting challenge matches}].
A better overall experience draws more competitors: WAR Zone events grow.
WAR Zone events grow faster than other wrestling competitions because of the Network Effect.
As the number of competitors increase, the quality of the matchups increase.
With 2 wrestlers, there is only 1 potential matchup:
With 5 wrestlers there are 10 potential matchups:
With 12 wrestlers there are 66 potential matchups:
With 5,000 wrestlers there are 12,497,500 potential matchups… More wrestlers means a better experience for everyone. The more wrestlers, the higher the quality of matchups, and the shorter the wait time after requesting a match.
No more weight cutting!
There is no benefit to cutting weight because there are no weight classes. Wrestlers will compete in tailor-made matchups for their age, weight, and skill. Losing weight will not give you a competitive advantage.
No more bracketing!
Trying to bracket wrestlers into appropriate age, skill, and weight divisions is time consuming and frustrating. It often causes a tournament to run slowly. If a kid doesn’t make weight, it is a headache that slows down the event. WAR Zone creates matchups one at a time, and is completely effortless for the tournament director.
We want to grow wrestling participation. If we can get more children involved in wrestling, everyone benefits. The best way to grow is to provide more opportunities for beginners, give everyone a great experience, and to help local programs fundraise.
